  8. QuickDraw 3D enables your computer to display
  9. three-dimensional graphics using applications designed to
  10. take advantage of QuickDraw 3D. It also provides a common
  11. file format, called QuickDraw 3D Metafile (or 3DMF for
  12. short), for exchanging 3D documents.  QuickDraw 3D also
  13. provides acceleration services which support plug-and-play
  14. accelerator cards. Version 1.5.3 contains miscellaneous bug
  15. fixes and optimizations.

  17. This software consists of a Disk Copy NDIF (New Disk Image
  18. Format) compressed image, which requires Disk Copy 6.1 or
  19. later to use. Download this software to your hard drive and
  20. then double-click it to use it. Disk Copy is available in
  21. the Utilities folder.

  23. Disk Copy 6.1 (or later) or Disk Image Mounter 2.1 (or
  24. later) from Apple are the recommended applications to access
  25. all disk images released by Apple and are the only supported
  26. applications to access NDIF disk images.

  36. Using QuickDraw 3D
  37.  
  38. The QuickDraw 3D folder includes the following applications,
  39. 3D models, and textures that allow you to explore the 3D
  40. capabilities of your computer:

  42. * SimpleText version 1.4 and Scrapbook version 7.5.2. These
  43. applications allow you to open and interact with 3DMF
  44. models.
  45.  
  46. * A new Scrapbook File with sample 3DMF models.
  47.  
  48. * A number of 3DMF models provided by Model Masters
  49. (www.interaccess.com/modelmaster), Plastic Thought, Inc.
  50. (www.3d-active.com), Viewpoint DataLabs International
  51. (www.viewpoint.com), and Zygote (www.zygote.com).

  53. If you are using a localized system, and you install this
  54. U.S. software, you will need to copy the Scrapbook File in
  55. the QuickDraw 3D Folder to the System Folder on your
  56. computer. Otherwise, when you choose Scrapbook from the Apple
  57. menu, you will get an empty scrapbook. Note that this
  58. operation will replace any existing Scrapbook File in the
  59. System Folder, thus erasing any previously stored contents.

  65. This software contains fixes to the following bugs:
  66. - Clipping errors in the wireframe and interactiver renderers
  67. - A picking error in which a window point pick sometimes missed
  68. - Clip regions and SetOrigin() calls were ignored and panes had
  69.   to be entirely contained inside the window.
  70. - When using RAVE, asynchronous engines no longer draw over
  71.   windows and menus.
  72. - Crashing when MoviePlayer opens a movie with 3D track.
  73. - Viewer errors including: undesirable re-rendering when
  74.   using non-interactive renderers, failure to display control
  75.   buttons when using 8 bit mode, Offscreen non erasure using
  76.   8-bit mode, using 8-bit mode internal state not changing,
  77.   using SimpleText and not being able to select text when 3DMF
  78.   open, non-use of clear image color read from ViewHints,
  79.   displayed images would brighten and dim when using
  80.   SimpleText, and SimpleText Balloon Help redraw problem.
